How can someone pay for personal in-home care in Houston? Most people pay for personal in-home care privately. Possible sources used to cover private-pay home care expenses might include individual retirement accounts (IRAs), health savings accounts (HSAs), pensions, investments, annuities, real estate, and Social Security benefits. Medicare only covers skilled nursing services like physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc. Medicare does not cover "non-skilled" services like personal care (bathing, grooming, mobility, etc), companionship care, and respite. Medicaid does cover non-skilled home care, but there is an income limit. Feel free to reach out to discuss other options when it comes to paying for care.
